Our jewelry making one-day workshops are for beginner-level to experienced jewelers. Each workshop will focus on a new skill or project for your jewelry-making hobby or business.

Small group classes allow for personalized attention during instruction. Instruction is available in both English and Italian languages. The minimum age to participate is 18 years old.

Cuttlefish bone casting

Delve into the ancient art of metal casting as you learn the intricacies of this unique method. Under expert guidance, you'll explore the process from start to finish, crafting your own stunning pieces inspired by the sea and Italian artistry.

Expand your skill set and enrich your design portfolio with our upcoming low-tech workshop. Minimal equipment investment is required, making it accessible to all aspiring artisans.

What you will learn:

  • how to prepare and create a mold from a cuttlefish bone (found naturally on our local beaches)

  • design your piece to fit in the mold space and how to use found object shapes in your work

  • how to pour molten metal into the mold to create unique jewelry objects

At the end of this workshop you’ll have 1 or 2 completed pieces to take home and the knowledge to practice this ancient casting technique on your own.

Beginner level, minimal prior jewelry experience is helpful, but not necessary

Includes: guided instruction in English and/or Italian, use of tools and equipment during the workshop, casting metal for your project, light snacks and drinks
